Rhynchostylis (Greek, beaked column or style). Orchidaceae. Epiphytic herbs closely related to Sacco- labium and usually sold under that name.

Stems monopodial and 2-ranked: lvs. crowded, leathery or fleshy : fls. in dense racemes from the axils of the lvs., medium-sized; dorsal sepal and petals sub- similar, lateral sepals broader, decurrent on the foot of the column; labellum firmly joined to the base of the column, obovate, inflexed at the apex, not 3-lobed, spurred, the spur straight or curved backward. For cult., see Saccolabium.
