Nepenthes hybrida, Mast. (N. khasiana x N. gracilis?). Lvs. amplexicaul, decurrent, semi-petiolate elongate- lanceolate: pitchers 3-5 x ¾-l in., cylindric, slightly constricted in middle, green or somewhat purple- spotted (var. maculata); wings shallow ciliate. G.C. 1872:542, desc. J.H.S. 21:1897:238.—A hardy freely pitchering though rather unattractive type that usually catches abundant insect prey in greenhouses. Raised by Dominy about 1863, and sent out by Veitch in 1866. The above text is from the Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture.
