Agave ellemeetiana, Koch. Nearly or quite trunkless: lvs. lanceolate, spreading, 6 x 24 in. or more, glaucous, thin, unarmed: infl. 5-10 ft., erect, the rather short sterile base closely covered by linear bracts; fls. paired, greenish white, 1 1/4 in.; ovary flask-shaped, 5/8 in., segm. 5/8 in., tube nearly suppressed; filaments very long, 2 3/4 in. E. Mex. Ref. Bot. 163.—With lvs. very minutely denticulate it becomes var. subdentata, the distinctness of which from A. pruinosa is not clear. Re- ported crossed with A. micracantha. CH
