Pachira macrocarpa, Schlecht. (P. fastuosa, Decne. P. longifolia, Hort.). Fig. 2694. A small or medium-sized tree: lvs. 5-7-foliolate; lfts. subsessile or briefly petiolulate, oblong or obovate, 2 1/2-8 in. long, glabrous: fls. up to 9 in. long; calyx stipitate, cuplike, smooth or nearly so; petals laciniate or linear, brownish to greenish pubescent without, pink to white or pale yellow within; staminal tube glabrous, the stamens about as long as the petals: caps, ovoid, 9 in. long by 8 in. diam.
