Spiraea densiflora, Nutt. (S. betulifolia var. rosea, Gray. S. splendens, Baumann. S. rosea, Koehne. S. arbuscula, Greene). Low, much-branched shrub: lvs. very short-petioled, oval to ovate, obtuse, crenately serrate, glabrous, rarely sparingly puberulous beneath, 3/4 – 1 1/2 in. long: fls. bright pink, in dense corymbs 1-2 in. across. June-Aug. Brit. Col. to Ore., Wyo., and Mont. G.F. 10:413. CH
