Trichosanthes anguina, Linn. (T. colubrina, Jacq.). Serpent or Snake Gourd. Fig. 3839. St. slender, tall-growing: lvs. nearly circular in outline, 5-7 in. across. 3-7-lobed; lobes round; margin undulate or wavy: peduncle bearing the male fls. 4-10 in. long, 8-15-fld.: body of petals oblong, less than 1/2 in. long, fringes 1/2 in. long: fr. slender, contorted, often exceeding 3 ft. in length.
