Genus of about 35 species of sticky-leafed annuals. perennials and subshrubs from southern and eastern Africa belonging to the foxglove (Scrophulariaceae) family. Their leaves are smooth or toothed and the flowers have 5 spreading notched petals at the end of a long tube. Most are night-scented and the outside color of the flowers is quite different from the inside.

These plants like full sun and a well-drained soil in almost frost-free climates. Where frost is usual, they can be grown in a cool greenhouse as a colorful filler. Keep almost dry in winter.
Propagation
