Phragmopedilum Schlimii, Rolfe (Cypripedium Schlimii, Lind. Selenipedium Schlimii, Reichb. f.). Fig. 2926. Lvs. 4-6, ligulate, leathery, sharp-pointed, 9-12 in. high: scape longer than the lvs., hirsute, often branched, 2-8-fld.: sepals less than 1 in. long, ovate obtuse, the lower a little larger than the upper and concave, white or spotted with crimson on the inner side; petals like the sepals; labellum an elliptic bag with a contracted opening, white with a large crimson blotch in front; staminodium yellow. Late summer. Colombia. B.M. 5614. F.S. 18:1917. Var. albiflorum, Hort. Fls. white, except the yellow staminodium and a suffused blotch on the labellum. I.E. 21:183. Vars. giganteum and superbum are also advertised. CH
