Phragmopedilum caricinum, Rolfe (Cypripedium Pearcei, Hort. C. caricinum, Lindl. & Paxt. Selenipedium caricinum, Reichb. f.). Lvs. 1 ft. long, springing in sedge-like tufts from the long creeping rhizome: scape longer than the lvs., 3—6- fld.: fls. mostly pale greenish, with the segms. bordered with white and having purple tips; sepals broadly ovate, waved, as long as the lip; petals more than twice as long, pendent, narrow, and much twisted; labellum oblong, the upper margins flat; staminodium provided with 2 hairy processes.
