Pyrola elliptica, Nutt. Height 8-10 in.: lvs. broadly oval or oblong, thin, dull, serrulate, 2-2 1/2in. long, longer than the petiole: loosely 5-10-fld.; calyx-lobes ovate, acute, one-fourth length of the obovate whitish petals. Canada to Brit. Col. and through N. Atlantic States to New Mex., Japan. June and July. The above text is from the Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture.
