Morina persica, Linn. (M. turcica, Hal. M. graeca, Jaub. & Spach). Thistle-like: st. 3-4 ft., pubescent or hairy: lvs. 6 in. long and 1 in. wide, sessile, doubly spinoustoothed, pubescent or glabrous: spikes long, bearing bright pink fls.; calyx-lobes nearly equal, entire or emarginate; fertile stamens 2, the filaments as long as corolla-lobes; corolla-tube to 1½ in- long. Greece to the Himalayas.
