Justicia scheidweileri (syn. Amphiscopia pohliana, Porphyrocoma lanceolata, Porphyrocoma pohliana) seems to have a lot of confusion surrounding its botanical name, but a very popular cultivar, called Maracas Brazilian Fireworks is a very easy to grow and beautiful, compact house plant, or outdoor plant in milder winter areas. The flowers come on scarlet plumes, with lavender purple accents. The leaves have a nice silverish pattern on them as well.

Cultivation

Great solution for shady areas, can be grown as an annual, if winters are too harsh, or brought indoors for next year.

Propagation

Easily grown from seed, it even self sows. Divisions and cuttings also are easy.
