Potentilla villosa. Pall. Sts. stout, ascending, 4-12 in. high, few-lvd., cymosely few-fld., densely silky-villous: basal lvs. long-petioled, ternate; lfts. sessile or nearly so, thick and veiny, suborbicular-cuneate, 9-15 lines long, lateral oblique at the base, all coarsely crenate-serrate with short teeth, margin somewhat revolute, densely silky-pilose above, densely white-tomentose beneath: fls. 9-12 lines broad, showy; sepals and bracteoles equal; petals broadly obcordate, 2-3 times the length of the sepals, golden yellow; carpels glabrous, smooth or rugulose; style subterminal, conical, moderately thickened at the base.
