Hedychium coccineum, Buch.-Ham. St. about 6 ft. tall: lvs. all sessile, linear-lanceolate and sharp-pointed, glabrous above, glaucous beneath: fls. rather small, scarlet, the filament long-projected; lip nearly or quite entire; fl.- bracts conspicuous, acute or obtuse, triangular. India. L.B.C. 8:705.—A hybrid between this and H. gardnerianum has been advertised as H. moorei.
