Hedychium coccineum, Buch.-Ham. St. about 6 ft. tall: lvs. all sessile, linear-lanceolate and sharp-pointed, glabrous above, glaucous beneath: fls. rather small, scarlet, the filament long-projected; lip nearly or quite entire; fl.- bracts conspicuous, acute or obtuse, triangular.
