Acer campestre, Linn. Shrub or tree, occasionally 50 ft., with corky branches: lvs. 3-5-lobed, l 1/2-3 1/2 in. long, green and pubescent beneath or nearly glabrous; lobes entire or the middle one slightly 3-lobed: corymbs erect, hairy: fr. with horizontally spreading wings.
