Biennial, tomentose: lvs. crenate, green above, slightly hoary or canescent beneath; radical oblong-elliptic, narrowed to the petiole; upper lvs. sessile, lanceolate: infl. paniculate; branches erect-spreading, angled: fls. small, yellow or white; calyx tomentose, segms. lanceolate, acute, tips glabrous; filaments white-woolly. Eu. and Caucasus.
