Fritillaria pudica, Spreng. St. 2-10 in.: lvs. 3-8, lower ones strap-shaped, often opposite (while in F. tulipifolia and F. armena they are alternate), upper ones linear: fl. usually solitary, pale or dark yellow, rarely purple, never checkered; segms. oblong-spatulate and obtuse, more or less spreading. N. W. Amer. —The stamens (as in Nos. 14 and 15) are nearly as long as the perianth. "Deep orange- yellow, fragrant."
