Gustavia (Gustavus III, King of Sweden). Lecythidaceae. Trees and shrubs of the American tropics with large showy fls., of which G. speciosa, HBK.,is offered in S. Calif. It is a thick-lvd. tree with 6-petaled white fls., suitable for planting in the open. For fuller account, see Japarandiba.
