Alectryon (Greek name for the chanticleer). Sapindaceae. Titoki. Tall trees, one of which is grown in California. Leaves alternate, pinnate, stipulate, the lfts. entire or toothed: fls. mostly unisexual, in axillary or terminal panicles, the petals wanting, containing a small lobed disk; stamens 10 or less: fr. a hard woody caps., the seeds arillate, with spiral cotyledons.—Some 16 species in Malaya and the Pacific Isls.
