Aplopappus croceus, Gray. St. about 1½ ft., erect and stout, and with radical Lvs. a foot or less long: cauline Lvs. ovate- oblong to lanceolate, partly clasping: fls. showy, saffron-yellow, the rays about an inch long, the inner involucral bracts ragged. Rocky Mts. June-Oct.
