Calanthe crocata, Morr. & Joris. Whole plant 12 in. high: Ivs. sub-distichous; petiole 2-3 in. long, sheathing most of its length; blade 4-5 in. long, erect, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, somewhat undulate, dark green and veined above, rose-purple beneath: spike short, the bracts bright saffron-yellow.
