Camarotis rostrata, Reichb. (C. purpurea, Lindl. Sarchochilus purpureus, Benth.). Fig. 755. Sts. 2-3 ft. long, climbing: lvs. oblong-linear, bifid at apex, 3-4 in. long: racemes longer than lvs.; fls. crowded, about 1 in. diam., rose-purple, the lip somewhat darker. India. P.M. 7:25.—A scarce plant, now offered in American lists. Free-growing plant with aerial roots similar to some epidendrums. The treatment accorded to the vandas and saccolabiums with similar roots will suit the camarotis. George V. Nash. CH
