Canna paniculata, Ruiz & Pav. (C. excelsa, Lodd.). St very tall, slender, glabrous: lvs. oblong or ovate and acute, green and glabrous above and pubescent beneath: racemes lax, disposed in a squarrose panicle, the fls. in 2's; sepals lanceolate, 4/5 in. long, obtuse; petals lanceolate, yellow-green, 2-3 in. long; lip rather longer than the petals, crimson. Subequatorial Andes. CH
