Chondrorhyncha (cartilage and beak). Orchidaceae. Three species of S. American epiphytal orchids, practically unknown in the American trade. Cult. as for Odontoglossum crispum. They are short-stemmed herbs without pseudobulbs, and oblong, plicate, petioled lvs., the simple scape bearing a single large, odd, yellowish fl. C. Chestertonii, Reichb. f. (O.R. 11:305; 16:57), C. fimbriata, Reichb. f., and C. rosea, Lindl., are the species. Keep cool and moist. A garden hybrid is reported between C. Chestertonii and Zygopetalum Mackayi under the name of Chondropetalum Fletcheri. O.R. 1908, 56, f. 8. George V. Nash. CH
