Clethra arborea, Ait. Shrub or small tree, to 20 ft.: Lvs. cuneate, narrow-elliptic, acuminate, serrate, almost glabrous, shining above, 3-4 in. long: racemes panicled; Is. fragrant. Aug.-Oct.
