Cornus capitata, Wall. (Benthamia fragifera, Lindl.). Tree: lvs. coriaceous, elliptic- oblong, narrowed at both ends, appressed - pubescent above and more densely and whitish beneath, 2-4 in.: involucre about 2½-3 in. wide, creamy white; bracts ovate, acute: fr.-head over 1 in. across, scarlet.
