Crinum augustum, Roxbg. (C. amabile var. augustum, Gawl). Bulb conical, 6 in. thick; neck long: Lvs. 20-30, strap- shaped, 2-3 ft. long, 3-4 in. broad: fls. 12-30, on a lateral much-compressed peduncle 2-3 ft. high; pedicels sometimes an inch long; color strong purplish red outside, banded within; tube purplish; segms. lanceolate, 4—5 in. long; filaments half length of Begins., red. Mauritius, Seychelles. B.M. 2397. B.R. 679. — Warmhouse; effective. CH
