Haworthia viscosa, Haw. (Aloe viscosa, Linn. A. triangularis, .... Apicra viscosa. Willd.). St. with lvs. 1 ¼ -8 in., occasionally forked, clustered: lvs. dull green, ½ x 1 in., appressed with spreading tips, minutely scabrous: infl. 1 ft. high, slender and curving, simple; fls. green-lined. Cape. DC., PI. Gr. 16. B.M. 814. Salm, Aloe §3, f. 3.—The type, with straight ranks of lvs., varies into a form with larger less-crowded lvs., var. indurata (H. indurata, Haw., Aide indurata, R. & S., A. viscosa indurata, Salm), Salm, Aloe §3, f. 36; a small form with more spreading lvs. in somewhat spiral ranks, var. pseudotortuosa, Baker (H. pseudotortuosa, Haw., Aloe pseudotortuosa, Salm, A. subtortuosa, R. & S., Apicra tortuosa, Willd.), Salm, Aloe §3, f. 5; a dwarf form with straight-ranked, longer, more spreading, nearly smooth lvs., var. concinna, Baker (H. concinna, Haw., Aide concinna, R. & S., A. viscosa major, Salm), Sahn, Aloe §3, f. 4. Berger 24; and a taller form with more or less spiral ranks of outcurving lvs. 2 in. long, var. torquata, Baker (H. torquata, Haw., Aloe torquata, Salm), Salm, Aloe §3, f. 6.
