Limonium elatum, Kuntze (Statice elata, Fisch. S. scoparia, Hort. Vilm., not Pall. Goniolimon elatum, Boiss.). Perennial, green, about 2 ft. high: lvs. obovate, very obtuse, apex often refuse, shortly mucronate, rather long-attenuate to the petiole: scape tall, elongate-panicled above; branches hairy, 3-angled, spreading-incurved; spikelets 2-fld., loosely imbricated in distichous ovate spikes: fls. blue or violet-blue; calyx-tube appressed, pubescent, lobes rather acute, July, Aug. S. Russia and Siberia. CH
