Limonium eximium, Kuntze (Statice eximia, Schrenk. Goniolimon eximium, Boiss.). Perennial, glaucescent, 1-2 ft. high: lvs. oblong or obovate, short-mucronate, narrowly and crisped marginate, long-attenuate to the petiole: scape tall, panicled above; branches terete and pubescent; spikelets about 4-fld., densely imbricated in densely scorpioid-capitate spikes: fls. lilac-rose; calyx green, tube appressed-pubescent, lobes white-tipped, rather acute, crenulate. Aug. Cent. Asia. B.R. 33:2. Var. album, Hubb. (Statice eximia var. alba, Hort. S. eximia flore-albo, Hort.), has large white fls. Var. superbum, Hubb. (Statice eximia var. superba, Hort.), has large spreading heads of lilac fls. Aug., Sept. CH
