Luzula sylvatica, Gaud. (L. maxima, DC. L. sylvestris, Hort. Juncordes sylvaticum, Kuntze). Rhizome woody: st. 12-18 in. or more high: lvs. linear-lanceolate, hairy- edged, shining, striate: panicle double-compound, much exceeding the 1f.-like bracts; perianth-segms. bristle-pointed; filaments very short. Eu.—There is a form with variegated (striped?) foliage.
