Macroscepis (Greek, long or large, and to cover). Ascelpiadaceae. Tropical American climbers, somewhat grown in the warmhouse.

Tall twining, setose-hirsute: lvs. opposite, large, cordate: cymes crowded; fls. rather large and usually showy; calyx about 5-parted; corolla-tube ovoid or broadly cylindrical and constricted at the throat; limb 5-lobed, spreading; scales of the crown 5, inflexed under the throat of the fleshy corolla; stamens inserted near base of tube, the filaments connate into a short tube: follicles hard and thick.—Species few.
