Malvastrum campanulatum, Nichols. (Malva campanulata, Paxt. Malva purpurata, Lindl.). Two ft. or less high, hairy: lvs. pedately 3-7-lobed, the lobes deeply cut and toothed: fls. rose-purple, an inch across, in a loose terminal raceme, blooming until killed by frost; bractlets very narrow. Chile. B.M. 3814. B.R. 1362. G.C. III. 48:179; 52:193. P.M. 9:173, and R.H. 1843:325.
