Mammillaria setispina, Engelm. Upright branches 8-12 in. long, 2-4 in. diam., forming dense clumps: tubercles rather crowded, ovate, short: spines white with black tips; radials 10-12; centrals 1-4, stouter, the lower one strongly hooked, often twisted, 1½2 in. long, 2 or 3 times as long as the radials: fr. red, much exceeding the tubercles. Low. Calif.
