Senecio grandifolius, Less. (S. Ghiesbreghtii, Regel). A leafy shrub, 3-15 ft. high: lvs. petiolate, ovate or ovate-oblong, 6-18 in. long, one-half to two-thirds as broad, acute, sinuate-dentate and remotely callous-denticulate, dark green and glabrous or nearly so above, somewhat tawny-tomentulose beneath, cordate to rounded at the base; petioles stout, 1 1/2-5 in. long: infl. a terminal many-headed subcorymbose cyme; heads radiate; ray-fls. about 5, rays yellow; disk-fls. about 10: achenes glabrous.
