Sts. stout, 3-5 ft. tall, usually very leafy: lvs. often 1 ft. long, lower 4-10 lines broad, upper reduced to bracts: panicle dense, usually compound, branches spreading or ascending: fls. greenish or white, 6-8 lines broad: caps. ovoid-oblong.
