Teucrium marum, Linn. Shrub, low, very much branched, and hoary: lvs. small, ovate, 2-4 lines long, short-petioled, entire or very rarely crenate, hoary beneath; floral lvs. smaller: floral whorls 2-4-fld., racemose, subsecund, raceme 1-2 in. long, whorls approximate: fls. purplish; calyx hirsute, tubular-campanulate; corolla villous outside. Medit. region.—A low greenhouse shrubby plant similar in habit to Thymus vulgaris. CH
