Viburnum pauciflorum, Raf. Straggling shrub, attaining 5 ft.: lvs. orbicular to oval, coarsely dentate, with 3 short lobes above the middle or often without, glabrous or slightly pubescent beneath when young, 2 – 3 1/2 in. long: cymes few-fld., small, on lateral, short usually 2-lvd. branchlets: fr. scarlet, subglobose. June. Lab. to Alaska, south to Vt. and Colo. in the mountains.—It does not usually succeed well in cult.; requires shade and moist porous soil.
