Viola elatior, Fries. Sts. tall and straight: lvs. lanceolate from a rounded or cordate base, when young with appressed pubescence; the middle stipules as long or longer than the petiole, the upper much surpassing it: corolla large, pale blue. Cent. Eu. and southeastward.
